Writer’s Envy

I begin to sift her words
copy them off weathered pages
imagine they are my own

their rich musicality and muscle
their layered depth and texture

but alas and hurrah
I arrive at the truth
These unique weavings of words
are indeed her own

as well they should be__
She won the prize

And in some mysterious way
they have become a part of me

I can only hope
that my words too
will become a part of someone else
who loves them

and we will all be connected
in this grand scheme of creation
which after all__
began with a word

Jean E. Taddonio

In the beginning was the Word. The Word was in God’s presence. And the Word was God Jn1:1
