How did I miss your blooming?
You grew like a child, too quickly
Your buds were full of promise
I did notice—
kept you fed and watered
But my care became routine
a pitfall of time passing
My attentions scattered
and your beauty slipped by
Did you shine in the night
like a hope-filled child
When the world was in darkness
I missed your flower’s light
Were you quiet beneath my noise
my constant distractions
Will I get another chance
to see you bloom again—
Please bloom again
