The start of my face book page reads, What’s On Your Mind Today?

Cutting Loose…that’s what’s on my mind…oh not from everything…just our house..for a while…” Cutting Loose” is the label of the sweater I just put on a sweater ( its actually chilly and damp this morning in sunny San Diego) with the label ” Cut Loose” a great affirmation for letting go of ‘stuff’ The good Lord must have know it would take a flood… of the worst sewage kind, to force the issue. Some sense of humor, I must say.

Actually while men cut out 2 ft of dry wall today, we will ” cut loose” for a time from this dwelling place to plainer digs… a simple motel with a small pool and Jacuzzi and not a lot to do but read and write (-: YEAH! oh there will be a TV too but that will be at a minimum.. till tonight perhaps.. Finley, our wheaten terrier will be with us today…He has been farmed out to doggy care lately during the day.. all 12 years of him simply is confused at all the goings on around here… we aren’t much further along in that process!

I picked up a book this a.m., one that was buried in a pile of some-day-I’ll read-that or, Did I read that already? Anyway, it’s titled, “The Muses Among Us …eloquent listening and other pleasures of the writer’s craft “by Kim Stafford.. Can’t wait to dig in! In the prolog, Mr. Stafford says what the book is about: “What recent learning crowds your mind? What are your richest beginnings? Where do you want to go with those? How can you begin? And as we write, how can we help each other listen deep, begin clear, brave all, and offer our best beyond ourselves.” Wow. Is this what the Doctor ordered, or what?
And so it is. I hope to get in touch with my writing muse today, believe with all my heart that in some mysterious way, God is in charge of all this and will see us through. He put a rainbow in sky, for all of us dealing with floods of all kinds to remind us that hope and beauty still live, even in the worst of circumstances. I will look for my rainbows today. Amen.
