She sits on the sidelines
with pencil in hand
unsure what to do
while others write volumes
Decides not to try the thing
that seems to say, no way
not good enough to play
this writing game today
She waits and watches
tangled in her struggle
makes a mark, then turns away
another day dismayed
And then a kindness offered
by a fellow caring soul
who’s fought this one before
Come along with me, she says
You can do it too!
Just reach inside your soul
There’s so much more
You have a voice within your core
It’s calling you
You have a voice
